Sewing that says something...

In July I went to the Tolpuddle March and I was blown away by the beauty and skill of the Trades Union banners.

 

An important part of our cultural heritage that is being forgotten, along with the brass bands.

 

I would love to curate an exhibition of these one day - and maybe even help to make one!

 

I'd love to know more about the traditions and symbolism of the banners too.

 

Here I am with my local Trades Union Council banner. A work of art and a part of our political and social history too.
